Meghan Markle’s Dad Thomas Not Going to UK for Birth of Royal Baby

Meghan Markle’s Dad Thomas Not Going to UK for Birth of Royal Baby

Meghan Markle‘s father won’t be around to spoil the joy of her firstborn … because he’s still iced out of the Royal Family.

Sources close to Thomas Markle tell TMZ … he’s not traveling to London — or making any plans to do so — despite the fact his daughter is due to give birth to her and Prince Harry‘s child any day now. Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland, arrived this weekend.

We’re told, unlike last year — when health issues kept Thomas from attending the Royal Wedding and giving Meghan away — the reason he’s not visiting his daughter and meeting his new grandchild is because he’s squarely persona non grata.

Our sources say Thomas has been unable to make inroads reconciling with Meghan because he believes she’s in a “cone of silence” … but he hopes their relationship can be repaired after she has a baby.

As you’ll recall … Thomas seemed to get shunned by the Royals shortly after the wedding for going to the media, a move perceived by many as self-serving. There’s been a lot of speculation about the father-daughter relationship since then, but it’s clear they haven’t been on speaking terms since August.

Regardless, we’re told Thomas, of course, wishes Meghan and Harry the best and hopes for a safe delivery of a healthy baby … and he’s glad Doria’s made the trip to be by her side.

Drake Beefing Up Home Security Due to Feud with Kanye, Who Lives Nearby

Drake isn’t taking any chances in his escalating feud with Kanye West — he’s adding extra security outside his SoCal mansion because they live in the same hood!!!

Our sources in Hidden Hills — where the Wests and Drizzy all lay their heads — say Drake’s crib has at least 2 new guards standing watch outside the gate to his driveway. We’re told it’s no coincidence the security was added the day after his war with Ye erupted with tweets and an alleged threatening phone call.

If you didn’t know, their homes are verrry close to each other — we’re talking just a half-mile. Not much of a buffer zone. In addition to the added muscle, we’re told there’s an SUV stationed just inside Drake’s front gate.

It’s interesting … Kanye claims Drake is the one who started making threats, but Drizzy’s the one beefing up his home security.

One thing’s for sure — none of the Kardashian-Wests, especially North, Saint and Chicago, will be caroling outside Drake’s pad.

Why You Still Smoke

Smoking side effects sneak up on you. You don’t feel crummy in the beginning. By the time you notice the rasping cough that never seems to go away, you’re addicted. If you are one of the more than 34 million Americans who smoke, you likely got hooked very quickly. It probably took only a few cigarettes to make nicotine a huge part of your life, and that’s because nicotine is highly addictive. Cigarettes are deliberately designed to deliver high levels of nicotine to the brain in six to 10 seconds.

That’s a major reason why smoking is so difficult to stop. The faster the delivery of nicotine to your body, the greater the addictive effect on your brain. Another reason that it’s tough to stop smoking is the desire to ease the discomforts of withdrawal. And the rituals associated with smoking may be even more addictive than nicotine.

Smoking rituals are part of the addiction

“The behavior addiction of smoking may be far more compelling than just the short-term withdrawal symptoms of a hard drug.” says Jed Rose, the director of the Duke Center for Smoking Cessation in North Carolina. “Every move a smoker makes: the lighting of the cigarette, the inhaling, all the feelings and sensations of it, the whole package becomes highly addictive,” Rose tells CNN.

What’s behind the psychological need to smoke? “The chemicals in cigarettes work on the structures deep within a smoker’s brain, literally rewiring it so the habit becomes deeply ingrained,” says Rose.

And, of course, smokers suffer extreme discomfort from withdrawal when they stop. Shortly after smoking their last cigarette, many smokers start to feel uncomfortable and become anxious, irritable and restless. Their mood changes because they are not getting what the brain feels it needs to work well. As soon as they start smoking again, smokers usually feel relief.

You lose freedom of choice

Most who start as adolescents or young adults don’t believe they will be long-term smokers. They think they can easily quit whenever they want. “Ultimately, they will lose their capacity to make a free choice to smoke,” says Rose. “Then 30 years later, that’s when we typically see them in our program desperately trying to quit, because now they can’t go a single day without (a cigarette).”

Rose said his organization has found a patch or lozenge or drug combined with behavioral change techniques can be most successful in helping smokers quit. The Center for Smoking Cessation is also exploring e-cigarettes as a tool for quitters.

American Lung Association doubts the usefulness of e-cigarettes. The association says the Food and Drug Administration has not found any e-cigarette to be safe and effective in helping smokers quit. If smokers are ready to quit smoking for good, they should call 1-800-QUITNOW, according to the association. Or smokers should talk with their doctor about finding the best way to quit using proven methods and FDA-approved treatments and counseling.

Smoking is the No. 1 killer

Smoking is still the No. 1 cause of preventable death in the United States. It kills more people than obesity, substance abuse, infectious disease, firearms, and traffic accidents, according to the CDC. The U.S. Department of Health says some 443,000 Americans die from smoking-related illnesses every year. More than 16 million Americans live with a smoking-related disease.

In 1965, 42 percent of the U.S. population smoked. Current smoking declined from 20.9 percent or nearly 21 of every 100 adults in 2005 to 14 percent or 14 of every 100 adults in 2017. This means an estimated 34.3 million adults in the United States currently smoke cigarettes.

James Charles’ Speaking Tour Still on Despite Losing 3 Million Followers

YouTube star James Charles‘ upcoming national speaking tour is still on the table … despite tanking hugely in the followers department during his epic feud with fellow beauty vlogger, Tati Westbrook.

James’ YouTube account is currently hemorrhaging followers — about 3 million at last count — as the fallout over his beef with Tati continues … but so far the staggering loss of clout isn’t putting an end to his upcoming Sisters Tour.

The tour begins at the end of June, and venues for 6 of the initial tour stops tell us they’re still making plans to host James.

In fact, tickets are still on sale for each of his 24 tour dates — and they ain’t exactly going cheap. Some people have been shelling out a whopping $500 to score VIP seats.

Outraged fans on social media have been asking for refunds ever since James had a huge falling out with his mentor, Tati, after he promoted one of her rival beauty products. Those fans are outta luck — we’re told all sales are final.

So far, venues are telling us they haven’t been notified by tour producers of any change in plans, and production ultimately has the final call. We’ve reached out to producers, but they’ve gone radio silent.

Seems a staggering loss of followers won’t hurt James too much … at least on the road. He’s currently in the midst of a mini-tour in Australia, and still has over 13 MILLION YouTube subscribers.

Kim Kardashian On Set for Paris Hilton’s New Music Vid, ‘Best Friend’s Ass’

Everything’s come full circle for Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian — the former besties have solidified their BFF status once again … thanks to their asses.

Kim was spotted Thursday outside Hollywood’s Nightingale Plaza club, glammed up alongside Paris on the set of what looks to be the music video shoot for Hilton’s new single with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, “Best Friend’s Ass.”

Paris and Kim have both teased a secret project together on social media … and now all signs point to it being this music vid.

Along with Kim, Paris was joined by “RuPaul’s Drag Race” star and Britney Spears impersonator, Derrick Barry, who was decked out in full “I’m a Slave 4 U” attire.

There were also more drag queens, shirtless hunks and snakes on set … lots of snakes.

The irony of Paris’ new song title is strong. If you’ll recall … when she and Kim had their falling out more than a decade ago, she said she would not want a butt like the famous Kardashian, adding … “It’s gross! It reminds me of cottage cheese inside a big trash bag.”

Water under the bridge, apparently. Can’t wait to see the music vid!

Khloe Kardashian Says Kris Jenner Sneaks Sugar to Grandchildren

Khloe Kardashian will not leave baby True alone with Kris Jenner … because she fears Grandma will give the kid a sugar high!!!

True Thompson‘s momma dished with Disso Queen Laura Wasser on her hit podcast, ‘Divorce Sucks!’ which drops Monday … and Khloe says Kris is like your typical grandma … always fretting about extra layers and bribing the little ones with sugary treats.

Khloe reveals True’s yet to taste any kind of unnatural sugars … but she’s got to watch her back around Kris because granny wants to fatten up the 1-year-old with all sorts of sweets.

Khloe believes Kris’ tasty bribes are her way of getting Kim‘s and Kourtney‘s kids begging to go over the river and through the woods.

It’s a fascinating conversation on parenting … watch and learn how each of the Kardashian sisters deal with their broods … from militant to permissive.

Victoria Beckham and little Harper just had the most fashionable day out

Is there anything better than a mother and daughter day? Victoria and Harper Beckham teamed up on Thursday evening, taking a stylish trip to the Victoria & Albert museum, where they headed to the Dior Exhibition and we LOVED the snap VB shared. Taking to Instagram, the 45-year-old posed with her daughter in front of the exhibit’s sign and little Harper looked delighted – wearing a printed dress and super-cute headband, with one leg popped to the side. SO cute. Victoria dressed head-to-toe in black, rocking simple black skinny jeans and a black t-shirt, with super high heels. What a chic pair! Looking as proud as punch, the fashion designer captioned the shot: “Special time with mummy tonight at the @vamuseum #DiorDesignerOfDreams Exhibition. x Kisses”

The Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams exhibit features stunning couture gowns from 1947 to the present day and has taken over Instagram as the fashion event to be seen at.

Plus, it’s majorly hard to get a ticket – the popular exhibit is a constant sellout. If you’ve ever wanted to go to a Dior runway show – the exhibit is the next best thing. You can check out frocks worn by actresses Jennifer Lawrence, Charlize Theron and ballerina Margot Fonteyn.

There’s also a royal element to it too – on display is a Christian Dior dress that Princess Margaret wore for her 21st birthday celebrations! The stunning design, made famous by photographer Cecil Beaton’s official birthday portrait of Margaret in 1951, is on loan from the Museum of London following conservation work and trust us, it’s breathtaking.

Madonna planning groundbreaking VR Billboard Music Awards show

Madonna is reportedly planning to utilise virtual reality and hologram technology for her performance at Wednesday’s (01May19) Billboard Music Awards.
According to British newspaper The Sun, the Vogue hitmaker will immerse herself in a computer-generated virtual reality world during her six-and-a-half-minute gig.
Sources tell the publication that fans at the venue and viewers watching at home will be wowed by holographic images and green screen visuals during her stage show, as well as real dancers.
“It’s one of the most ambitious performances ever attempted on live TV, and obviously a lot could go wrong,” the insider revealed. “It will require perfect timing and positioning to make sure that she interacts properly with the computer-generated visuals, otherwise it won’t work at all. She wants to make sure her performance is the big talking point of the night and nothing short of brilliant.”
The 60-year-old is also reportedly trying to avoid a mishap like her embarrassing stage fall at the 2015 BRIT Awards by throwing herself into an extensive rehearsal schedule at the Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, where the ceremony will be held.
Madonna will also use the gig to promote her comeback single Medellin, a collaboration with Colombian star Maluma, who will join her at the Billboard Music Awards.
Also performing at the bash will be Taylor Swift. She will reportedly kick off proceedings with her new track ME! with Panic! at the Disco’s Brendon Urie.
Cardi B is the most nominated act going into Wednesday’s ceremony, with an incredible 21 nods – one short of the all-time record shared by Drake and The Chainsmokers.

Anna Wintour had THIS to say about the Duchess of Sussex’s style

You know you’re getting noticed in the fashion world if Anna Wintour takes the time to personally comment on your style, and now, the Duchess of Sussex is the latest to receive a critique. Luckily, the mum-to-be can breathe a big sigh of relief. The American Vogue editor-in-chief had only good things to say about the former actress’s sartorial choices, calling her “an inspiration”.

Speaking to former Vanity Fair editor Tina Brown, 65, at the 2019 Women in the World summit in New York City, the 69-year-old fashion legend said: “She’s really bringing modernity to the royal family in a way that is inspiring.

“I think the image that I have in my mind… the Duchess of Sussex walking down the aisle by herself, that to me was representative of a modern woman.”

Continuing with her praise of the latest royal, she continued: “When she went on that trip to Australia and New Zealand, she was very respectful in choosing a lot of unknown Australian designers to wear, which was great.

“But I think, more importantly, she’s really bringing modernity to the royal family in a way that is inspiring”.

Anna even revealed that Meghan has been influencing her personal style when it comes to outfits. When asked how she arrives at her own style choices, and whether it’s best for women to adopt a uniform of sorts when designing their own wardrobes, Anna said it was “an entirely personal decision” but agreed that “it’s probably an easier decision to wear the same thing every day and not have to be concerned.”

She then went on to say: “I’ve been thinking a lot about suits recently so… thank you to the Duchess of Sussex!”

The Royals were clearly a hot topic during this interview because Anna also spoke of the late Princess Diana too. The pair reflected on the lunch they both had with the Princess of Wales just six weeks before her death.

Talking of the mint green Chanel suit the royal wore, Anna said: “She looked incredible, first of all. That was the most important thing and she looked fantastic.

“I heard that she spent a lot of time deciding what to wear to that particular lunch.

“I think part of her popularity was that Princess Diana really was so good with the media and was so in tune with them and welcomed them rather than standing back.

“In a way, she was certainly the first person in the royal family to understand the benefits of that.”

50 Cent Says ‘Power’ is Ending After Season 6

50 Cent? is dropping a bombshell, revealing he’s shutting down “Power” after its upcoming season, but on-set drama is not to blame — he just wants to ride off into the sunset on a high note.

Sources close to production on the hit series tell TMZ … 50 wants the show to go out on top, because he’s seen too many other series run themselves into the ground. “Power” is still hugely successful as it enters its 6th season on Starz.

While there’s speculation that drama between Fiddy and Randall Emmett is behind the decision to pull the plug … we’re told that’s simply not the case, and there’s no lingering beef between the fellow executive producers.

You’ll recall … Fiddy’s character, Kanan Stark, died last season, and we’re told that’s no coincidence … because 50 wanted more time to get started working on other projects, including “Power” spin-offs, which are already being developed.

As we first told you … 50 inked an 8-figure deal with Starz back in 2017 to bring 3 more projects to life, and the contract runs through this September.

Bottom line … the final season of “Power” just got even more interesting.
